行星齿轮结构连接发动机输出端和电动机输出端，控制动力分配，驱动力是发动机驱动和电动驱动的合力。发动机停止运转时，可以仅靠电动机行驶。当急加速时，启动发动机以辅助电动机驱动。

混合动力汽车在低转速区域用纯电动行驶，发动机停止工作，保持发动机工作在最佳区间，其平均热效率得以提升。此外，加上制动能量回收效果，燃油经济型更好，CO2排放量为传统车的1/2。

采用镍氢电池，圆柱形，串联连接
