回复:2楼I approach painting with one main goal: “to kick it up a notch.” I set up my
still lifes with an eye toward value and contrast — capturing light is crucial. I
love the drawing process and believe that a great painting starts with a good
foundation. I work from original photographs, often combining several to
achieve the composition I desire. Color is built up using glazes of transparent
watercolor. The paint should be rich enough to swirl across the palette-like
cream. I push the color intensity past realism using Dr. Ph. Martin’s
(Hydrus) Watercolors. After painting for many years, I still strive to find new
methods and mediums to intensify realism.
Rachel’s reflection
“Stuller says she likes to ‘kick it up a notch’ and indeed she does. This
reminds me of the catchphrase ‘If you’ve got it, flaunt it.’ If you’re going to
be daring, go for it! Vibrant red stripes in light and shadow, red
strawberries, glass texture — kick it up!”
